GEOTECHNICS AND SOIL TESTING

At EXOFOR, we provide comprehensive soil testing services for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Our team of experts has years of experience in the soil testing industry and uses the latest technology and equipment to ensure that your soil testing results are accurate and reliable.

WHAT IS SOIL TESTING?

Soil testing is the process of evaluating the properties and characteristics of soil to determine its suitability for construction purposes. Soil testing can help identify potential issues such as poor soil stability, high soil moisture content, and inadequate bearing capacity, which can impact the safety and stability of your building or structure.

Why choose our Soil Testing Services?

The foundation of all construction projects lies in the soil, as it bears the weight of structures. Soil testing plays a crucial role in determining important factors such as bearing capacity, density, compaction, presence of organic matter, sand, and contaminants. To ensure precise soil sampling, EXOFOR conducts three types of tests.

The pressure meter test is a method used to assess the stress-strain behavior of soil in its natural environment. This in-situ testing involves applying pressure to the sidewalls of a borehole and monitoring the resulting deformation. The test procedure includes drilling a borehole and inserting a pressure meter probe to the desired depth. The probe comprises three inflatable cells filled with water and gas. A control unit positioned near the borehole pumps water and gas while recording measurements. Increasing pressure causes deformation in the borehole walls. The pressure is maintained at a constant level for a specified period, and the volume change necessary to maintain the constant pressure is measured. The interpreted results provide valuable insights into the soil's stiffness, strength, and "at-rest horizontal earth pressure."

Core drilling is the process of drilling below the earth's surface to obtain a core of soil or rock sample in order to determine its properties.

The standard penetration test (SPT) is an in-situ dynamic penetration test designed to provide information on the geotechnical engineering properties of soil. This test is the most frequently used subsurface exploration drilling test in the world. The test collects samples to identify the soil and measures the resistance. This information is useful for designing geotechnical projects
